Abstract

The application of field‐emission microscopy (FEM) and field‐ion microscopy (FIM) to surface studies related to catalysis (symmetry of atomic‐like states localized at the surface atoms of transition metals, spillover effect, dissipation of energy, etc.) is discussed together with a new approach to modeling of supported bimetallic catalysts in these devices.
