โฆ Synopsis
The x2Ar --z 2Bt emission spectrmn of NH2 has been investigated (a) with moderate*resolution (21 cm-t) by excitation with a coumarin dye laser and @) wit& Sglzer resolution (*O-O2 cm-') by excitation in a microwave dtscharge. Rotational assigmnents have been made for bands (0, u$, 0) -+ (0, 0,O) and (0, ~4.0) + (O&O) with US= 12,13,14 and 1% Term values have been'established for 93 rotational 1eveIs of the 010 level of the ground state and have been fitted with a standard deviation of 0.032 cm-' to a harniRonian with Steen molecular constants. A table of term values is @en for the 010 level up to the SaeFl and Fs rotational IeveIs.

The extended stretch-bender Hamiltonian, incorporating spin-orbit coupling and overall rotation, has been used to calculate the spin-vibronic structure of the X 2 B 1 state of NH 2 up to the barrier to linearity of this state. A detailed comparison has been made with experimental measurements of the
