✦ Synopsis


A contribution to the structural chemistry of compounds of type A~2~B~2~ (A = S, Se; B = F, Cl, Br) is provided by the X‐ray structure analysis of β‐SeBr at −80°C. The BrSeSeBr molecules (SeSe = 2.241 Å; dihedral angle 93.58°) are arranged in the crystal in such a manner that some of the Se…Br contacts are significantly closer than the sum of the van der Waals radii.
