Several Drosophila receptor-linked protein tyrosine phosphatases (R-PTPs) are selectively expressed on axons of the developing embryonic central nervous system. The extracellular domains of these axonal R-PTPs are homologous to neural adhesion molecules. Thus, R-PTPs may directly couple cell recogni
