Acute liver failure (ALF) is characterized by rapid progressive organ failure and poor outcome. The pathophysiology of multiorgan dysfunction in ALF remains unclear but increased systemic inflammatory response is believed to be an important determining factor. Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), an
