Abstract
Summary: The freeβradical addition of Οβfunctional mercaptans to the vinyl double bonds of 1,2βpolybutadieneβblockβpoly(ethylene oxide) copolymers was used for modular synthesis of wellβdefined functional block copolymers. The modification reaction proceeds smoothly and yields quantitatively functionalized block copolymers (^1^H NMR and FTβIR spectroscopy) without disturbing the molecularβweight distribution of the parent copolymer (PDIβ<β1.09, size exclusion chromatography).

## Abstract A novel block copolymer consisted of MACIT and HCO segments was synthesized via ROMP in the ionic liquid [bmim][PF~6~] with good control over the polymerization process. The molecular weight of the block copolymer was estimated by ^1^H NMR, and the molar composition ratio of repeating u
