β¦ Synopsis
We introduce a modified density of modes to investigate the spontaneous emission spectrum of a threelevel V-type atom in photonic crystal using Laplace transform. The atom's steady state behavior of spontaneous emission is treated for different locations of the upper band-edge frequency. Furthermore; the influence of quantum interference between the two decay channels on spontaneous emission is discussed.
