D. Scott in his paper [5] on the mathematical models for the Church-Curry 2-calculus proved the following theorem. A topological space X is an absolute extensor for the category of all topological spaces iff a contraction of X is a topological space of "Scott's open sets" in a conti. nuous lattice.

β¦ Synopsis
Bellman and Giertz have proposed the conditions that the operations of union, intersection and complementation of fuzzy sets satisfy Zadeh's definitions. We have proved that some of the conditions in Bellman-Giertz's theorem are not necessary. The Bellman-Giertz's theorem is modified and the independence of some conditions is discussed.
