The quinone-linked porphyrin dimer 2 was prepared by the coupling of dipyrrolic intermediates. Compound 2, as a dilute solution in toluene, shows no detectable fluorescence when irradiated at 407 nm. Complex photosynthetic models containing two or more porphyrins with covalently attached acceptors
