Abstract

The analysis of the time dependent behavior of an irreversible all‐or‐none process on the basis of data from cross sectional surveys requires special methods. Assuming a pure death process three models of different degree of sophistication have been developed, mathematically analyzed and applied to one particular example: the caries attack on the permanent teeth of children.
