✦ Synopsis

The blood vessels of the rete mirabile and the gasgland in the swimbladder of fishes represent a hairpin-countercurrent system (hgs). This fact together with the production of lactic acid in the gasgland allows to understand the generation of high C02-and oxygen-pressures in the swimbladder. On the basis of a modelarrangement consisting of a hgs, which is perfused with hemoglobin solutions and to which is added lactic acid on the vertex, the generation of high gas pressures is discussed and experimentally verified.

Zusammen/assung. Die Blutgef~Be des l%ete mirabile und der Gasdrtise in der Schwimmblase yon Fischen stellen ein Haarnadelgegenstromsystem (hgs) dar. Dies zusammen mit der Milchsaureproduktion in der Gasdriise geniigt fiir ein Verstandnis der CO 2-und der Sauerstoffkonzentrierung in der Sehwimmblase. Mit Hilfe einer Modellanordnung, bestehend aus einem hgs, das mit HamoglobinlSsung dureh-strSmt und an dessen Scheitel den LSsungen Milehsaure zugesetzt wird, wird eine Gaskonzentrierung diskutiert und experimentell naehgewiesen.
