✦ Synopsis
With the introduction of an energy-conserving dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) scheme, simulations of the thermal behaviour of complex fluids at hydrodynamic time scales became possible. In this paper it is demonstrated that a different equation of state allows us to perform simulations of the phase change of materials. We indicate that thermal simulations with a constant temperature boundary condition are only possible in an accurate way at high overlapping coefficients, if a newly developed consistent boundary condition is used.
