✦ Synopsis


Integration of photovoltaic (PV) technology in buildings must always be realized by taking into account rational criteria in PV system design. This paper presents analytical models to estimate the energy and economic performances of P V grid-connected systems in non-ideal situations, i.e. considering spatial constraints (orientations, possible shadowing), technical characteristics and energy interchanges with the electricity grid. It offers a useful tool for the PV system designer, avoiding otherwise complex performance calculations.
