β¦ Synopsis
A new fracture experimental technique using a brittle coating on PMMA substrates for mode I fractures in layered brittle materials is introduced in this paper. Different strain histories can be applied to the coating including constant strain Irelaxation), strain cycling, strain magnitude, and strain rate. Fracture parameters, number of cracks, length of crack, spacing, spatial density, and propagation velocity describe the state of a fracture set.
