โœฆ Synopsis

A configuration interaction calculation, using model potential methods, is employed to evaluate the energy of the lowest 'S state of Li-. The model potential describing the valence electron-core interaction is chosen so as to reproduce the obserxd :,~&a of the neutral lithium atom with high precision. The calculated result of 0.591 eV is compzred with other theoretical estimates and experimental data.

The vertical electron detachment energy of Cc and the adiabatic electron affinity of Cs are calculated with ab initio electron propagator methods. The former energy difference is 2.86 eV and the latter is 2.82 eV. These values are in close agreement with recent experimental determinations. Structura

The three lowest states of LiF-have been studied using a combination of numerical Hartree-Fock orbitals and Slatertype orbitals as a basis set for coupled cluster calculations. The ground state electron affinity is 0.31 eV, while in the first excited state of the ion the extra electron is bound by 0
