## Abstract Two techniques to locate the wavelengths of the main reflectivity peaks of a sampled grating used as part of a sampled‐grating distributed Bragg reflector (SG‐DBR) laser are presented. It is shown that the results are in good agreement and also consistent with the theoretical results. ©
