โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
Deformation of a wall of an azimuthally corrugated periodic cavity leads to the mixing of the eigenmode fields of an originally periodic cavity. This effect manifests itself, in particular, in the splitting of what we refer to as natural frequency doublets. In this work, emphasis is placed on some typical features of the frequency and amplitude of an almost periodic cavity. In particular, the potential for compromising between the frequency rarefaction and amplitude composition are demonstrated for the cavity with a single and two irregular resonators, and some recommendations for their design are given. ยฉ 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
