✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The radiation characteristics of a new millimeter‐wave omnidirectional circular rod antenna with double dielectric gratings are analyzed using the rigorous mode‐matching method. The results indicate that under the condition of the same radiation intensity, the double‐grating antenna has relatively smaller dimensions than that of the single one. This characteristic is of essential and practical significance in the case where limitation of the system's size and weight is strictly required. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
