✦ Synopsis

Mode charts ha¨e been extracted for dielectric resonators in cylindrical and rectangular ca¨ities and conductor-loaded planar ca¨ities using the rectangular coordinate FDTD algorithm. A modal extraction procedure is applied to obtain the time-domain samples, and the matrix-pencil method is applied to these samples to obtain the resonant frequency ¨alues. The trans¨erse symmetry planes of the modes ha¨e also been exploited in order to control the modes the resonator will support, as well as to reduce memory and computation requirements.
