The unit is designed for use with machinesspecial purpose presses or guillotines for example -that cannot be guarded by more conventional means and, in order to comply with Factory Inspectorate regulations, have to be fitted with simultaneous two-hand control. The unit uses a simple logic circuit with plug-in valve elements. Pipework is embedded in a synthetic resin to eliminate leaks and to ensure that the whole unit is tamper-proof. The circuit is also fail-safe. Operating buttons are not supplied with the unit as customers' needs vary considerably. Schrader stress that it is vital for buttons to be placed far enough apart to prevent 'hand and arm' operation, or have a suitable obstruction between them.
