β¦ Synopsis
MLx design of fly ash concrete was attempted by three methods to find the influence of design method on the strength development. The conventional addition replacement method was compared with two other techniques by monitoring the compressive strength at 7, 28 and 91 days. The results suggest that the amount of fly ash required for developing higher strength depended on the grade of the concrete; the amount of fly ash required progressively decreased as the strength of the concrete increased.
Generally the concrete with a lower amount of fly ash than the weight of the cement it replaced is found to develop higher strength. Under inadequate curing conditions, the concrete with a lower fly ash content gave higher strength.

The effectiveness, K, of a fly ash can be defined as the ratio of the amount of cement replaced to the amount of fly ash added, provided the specified requirements of the concrete are maintained. It is generally assumed that the effectiveness of a fly ash can be treated as a constant. This paper pre
A major concrete problem in recent years has been premature deterioration of concrete bridge decks due to corrosion of reinforcing steel. The research reported here was designed to explore the possibility of eliminating the problem by the use of low porosity concrete. A brief review of low porosity
