For 3Q 2008, the developing markets segment of Reckitt Benckiser plc reported total revenue of £303 M (£247 M for 3Q 2007) and EBIT of £37 M (£29 M). For Jan-Sep 2008, this segment reported total revenue of £876 M (£719 M for the same period of 2007) and EBIT of £109 M (£87 M). Strong growth was evident across all regions of Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East in fabric care, surface care, home care, and health & personal care. In fabric care, initiatives to drive category penetration across the area generated growth behind Vanish. In surface care, Harpic performed well across the area, as did Veja in Brazil. In home care, growth came from Airwick, driven by Freshmatic.
