Seed oils from Androgaphis paniculata, Calliopsis elegans, Corochorus trilocularis. Crotalaria heyneana, Emblica officinalis, Mangifera indica, Pergulariadaemiaand Sopubiadulphinifoliahave beenexamined.Ofthese, the seeds from Androgaphis paniculata, a shrub, Emblica officinalis, a tree, and Mangiferaindica,atree,contain39.4,22.4 and 12.0percent of oil respectively. Pergularia daemia is rich in stearic acid (37.4C). Crotalaria heyneana, Androgaphis paniculata and Calliopsis elegans seed oils are rich in linoleic acid (60.50k4 58.9% and 48.3 "/a) respectively, while seed oils from Corocho-NS trilocularis and Emblica officinalis contain linolenic acid (3.6% and 5.9%). Seed oils of Pergularia daemia, Corochorus trilocularis and Emblica officinalis having iodine value from 63 to 8.5 may be useful as nondrying oils.

A large number of minor seeds containing oil in varying proportions, occur in forest and non-forest areas, which need to be looked into chemically. Information on such minor seeds and their oils will be of immense use in Industry and Agriculture. In this persuit we examined the following eight seed oils by the application of chromatographic techniques.
Androgaphispanicul, Nees (N.O. Acanthaceae) is a bitter annual herb, found in plains throughout India and Ceylon'.
CaUiopsis elegam, (N. 0. Compositae) : A genus of about 70 annual or perennial herbs. The annual species are easily raised from seeds sown in late April, out doors in March in gentle heat and planted out in ordinary soil *.
Corochorus trilocularis, Linn (N.O. Tiliaceae) is sometimes grown as a vegetable in India, Arabia and Tropical Africa'.
CrotQlaria hyu?ana, Grah (N. 0.Leguminosae) is sparingly branched, under shrub, 1-2 ft high4.
