✦ Synopsis
Water is probably the most vital of all our natural resources. In the developing countries, either too much with inadequate control, or too little can effectively curb socio-economic development. In the industrialized areas of the world, the tremendous cost of purifying polluted water for human consumption and plant irrigation is increasing yearly.
Clearly the time has come for close understanding and better management of water resources systems. This can only be achieved by combining the environmental approach to the subject and the systems engineering orientation. Although some headway has been made using simulation techniques, most of these
