## Abstract A resume is given on relationships between minerals and materials. It is shown that Nature has many advantages over technology which can be profitably exploited for finding new materials with useful properties. However, Nature has also inherent limitations. Therefore, it seems advisable

โฆ Synopsis
An erroneous statement has been given in [1]. Khatyrkite, (Cu,Zn)Al 2 , is not a natural quasicrystal, but a hitherto unnamed mineral which is associated with khatyrkite and with the similarly rare mineral cupalite, (Cu,Zn)Al. In the corresponding reference [2], a typographical error should be corrected.
