Abstract
Boiling of diphenyl distearoylglycerol‐α‐phosphate, diphenyl distearoylglycerol‐βT‐phosphate, distearoyl‐α‐methanesulphonylglycerol, and distearoyl‐βT‐(p‐toluenesulphonyl)glycerol with a mixture of acetic anhydride and acetic acid (1:4) gives a mixture of distearoyl‐α‐acetylglycerol and distearoyl‐βT‐acetylglycerol in the proportion of about 9:1. An explanation of these and similar reactions is offered.
