โœฆ Synopsis

This patent describes a metal-to-metal seal that is intended to create a high contact stress the seal ring. The flanges each have a triangular section recess. When the flanges are clamped together the seal is forced into the wedge shaped groove creating a high contact stress on the pressure side of contact stress on the pressure side of the seal contact.

A rotary joint for a tyre inflation unit is disclosed. This design uses brush seals and has the advantage over conventional solutions that no separate pressure control channel for the pressurization of the seal is required.
