✦ Synopsis

Microwave

-opdcal double rcsonan~~ studies have been carried out on four rotational levels of Lhe A'A, sue of rhioformaldehyde (H,CS). Several double re~~nancc signals have been observed which involve microwave transirions between levels of the excited state and high rovibronic levels of rhc ground stale. Inreresling Zeeman erfecls are observed.

The extended stretch-bender Hamiltonian, incorporating spin-orbit coupling and overall rotation, has been used to calculate the spin-vibronic structure of the rovibronic energies in the region where the vibronic states of the excited à 2 A 1 electronic state of NH 2 interact with near-resonant high-

The v, and v) stretching modes of ammonia in its A state have been investigated through the time evolution of various wavepackets on a recently published ab initio surface. The strong anharmonicity associated with the low barriers to H+NHz dissociation products substantially reduces Y, from the valu

The translational energy spectrum of H Rydberg atoms resulting from the photolysis of methanethiol ( CHsSH ) at 2 16 nm includes peaks which arise from the secondary photolysis of methyl radicals -one of the primary products. The measured times of flight of these secondary H atoms indicate that the
