✦ Synopsis

The rotational spectral lines of the linear (C_{5} D) radical in the ({ }^{2} \Pi) electric ground state are observed with a source-modulation microwave spectrometer and a Fourier-transform microwave spectrometer. Forty-eight spectral lines in the (173-279 \mathrm{GHz}) region and 10 in the (11-16 \mathrm{GHz}) region are measured and 10 molecular constants, including hyperfine interaction constants, are determined by a least-squares method. Frequencies of low-J rotational transitions of (\mathrm{C}_{5} \mathrm{D}) are calculated for radio astronomical observations. 1995 Academic Press. Inc.
