โœฆ Synopsis

I ,2-&hiete has been produced by very-low-pressure pyrolysis of 1,3_bithioIe-2-one. Its microwave spectrum has been observed and amed over the range X8-27 GIiz. All rotational constants and three centnfugal distortion constants have been adjusted in a least-squares fit from 12 rotational transitions in the vibrational ground state. The permanent electnc &pole moment 4 = 1329(2) D has been determined from Stark sphttings and the symmetry Czv has been established. A molecular structure is proposed which is compatible with the measured rotational constants and with ab mitio calculations.
