Fluoroborane, \(\mathrm{BH}_{2} \mathrm{~F}\), has been detected as a transient chemical species in the reaction of diborane with trifluoroborane by microwave spectroscopic technique. The rotational constants obtained for three isotopic species of this molecule are (in \(\mathrm{MHz}\) ):

β¦ Synopsis
Transient molecules, BFHOH and BH(OH)z, have been detected by microwave spectroscopy in the hydrolyses of diborane and BF3. Their conformations have been determined from the inertia defects and the differences in moments of inertia between normal and deuterated species.
