✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Embedded stubs are employed to implement microwave notch filters with narrow bandwidth and sharp rejection rate. The embedded stub exhibits higher equivalent characteristic impedance and takes less area than the conventional shunt stub. An equal‐length, two‐section stub offers multiple stop‐bands which are fundamentally different from those obtained in conventional quarter‐wavelength stub. Experimental results are presented to show the validity of the design method. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
