✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The microwave ferrite variable polarizer in a square waveguide is investigated in this Letter. The nodal finite‐element method (FEM) is employed to analyze the differential phase shift characteristic of the device. The numerical and experimental results all indicate that the dielectric loading can increase the differential phase shift by about 30–40%, but has little effect on the VSWR and insertion loss of the device. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
