Zirconium-doped hematite particles of the type xZrO 2 -(1Γ€x)a-Fe 2 O 3 (x ΒΌ 0.1, 0.5) were synthesized using mechanochemical activation and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Mo Β¨ssbauer spectroscopy. For x ΒΌ 0.1 all zirconia was dissolved in the hematite lattice after 12 h of ball milling
