✦ Synopsis

a b s t r a c t Ammonium metavanadate (NH 4 VO 3 ) has been shown to be an inexpensive, efficient, and mild catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of octahydroquinazolinone derivatives using dimedone, urea/thiourea, and appropriate aromatic aldehydes under microwave-irradiation.
