✦ Synopsis

Abstract

“Dry” carbonyl Diels‐Alder and carbonyl‐ene reactions with microwaves and reactants supported on graphite were dramatically accelerated with respect to homogeneous conditions both involving classical or microwave heating. Although the reactions were carried out in an open reactor, a control of the evaporation of volatile reagents was possible, probably due to their retention or confinement by graphite.

## Abstract The coupling of graphite (as a support) with microwaves (as an energy source), a new type of “dry reaction”, was studied for some Diels‐Alder reactions involving anthracene and azadienes. Graphite is responsible for a high‐temperature gradient leading to increased reaction rates as comp
