β¦ Synopsis
Microtubules of polyaniline (PANI) doped with HCl, HBF 4 , and β€-naphthalene sulfonic acid (NSA) were synthesized by an improved in situ doping polymerization method. Ultraviolet-visible spectra, scanning electron microscopy, ESR, and X-ray diffraction characterized the molecular structure of the resulting PANI microtubules. These microtubules had a diameter of 1 Ο³ 10 m and a conductivity at room temperature of 0.2 Ο³ 3.5 S/cm, depending on the molecular structure and concentration of the dopant. The degree of crystallinity of the PANI microtubules was enhanced by increasing the molecular size of the dopant; that is, the order PANI-NSA ΟΎ PANI-HBF 4 ΟΎ PANI-HCl was observed in the crystallinity of the microtubules.

## Abstract The dc electrical conductivity (Ο) of HClβprotonated polyaniline, polypyrrole, and their blends was measured from 80 to 300 K for thermal aging times between approximately 0 and 600 h. The thermal aging took place at 70Β°C under room atmosphere. The change of Ο with the temperature (__T_
Processable polyaniline doped and complexed with dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid was obtained by one-step micellar chemical polymerization of aniline in the presence of dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid. Homogeneous transparent suspension could be made by dispersing processable polyaniline in m-cresol without
A novel polyaromatic acid, poly(thiophenylenesulfonic acid) (PTPSA), prepared from a soluble precursor of poly(arylenesulfonium salt) was employed as a dopant for polyaniline (PAn). The electro-oxidative polymerization of aniline in PTPSA aqueous solution gives an electroactive PAn/PTPSA composite w
