## Abstract The frequency upconversion emissions of NaYF~4~ nanocrystals embedded in transparent glass ceramics codoped with Yb^3+^/Er^3+^, prepared by melt quenching and subsequent heating, were investigated. It was found that, compared with that of the sample singly doped with 0.5Er^3+^, the inte
