โฆ Synopsis
A high-permittiยจity ceramic substrate was used to reduce the microstrip antenna dimension on patch size as compared with a conยจentional low-permittiยจity substrate. A lossy conductiยจe patch was studied for broadening the bandwidth. Here, experiments on single-feed ( ) circularly polarized CP microstrip antennas for global positioning sys-( ) tem GPS applications are demonstrated. Results of the Smith charts, axial ratios, and radiation patterns are measured and discussed. แฎ 1998

Bandwidth enhancement of a single-layer, single-patch rectangular microstrip antenna can be achieยจed by embedding a pair of double-bent slots close to the patch's nonradiating edges and an additional bent slot centered to the patch's center line.
