✦ Synopsis

Microsoft and ISS unite to secure ISA Server 2000 Microsoft has licensed key components of RealSecure intrusion detection technology from Internet Security Systems (ISS) for inclusion in its new Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000. Embedding intrusion detection within a multi-purpose security server -providing firewall, intrusion detection and Web caching capabilitiesimproves security by protecting the flow of information between the Internet and a private network. According to Steve Russ from ISS, "Embedding intrusion detection technology is a significant milestone in simplifying security management, and we will continue to expand on our embedded technology solutions. RealSecure technology for ISA Server leverages ISS's strong network-based presence by extending this robust protection to critical servers and hosts inside the IT infrastructure." Microsoft's Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000 is an enterprise firewall and Web cache server that enables IT administrators for businesses of all sizes to provide controlled, secure and fast Internet access for their organization. Building on the security and manageability of the Microsoft Windows 2000 platform, ISA Server provides a multi-level enterprise firewall and a Web cache to control, secure and accelerate business on the Internet.
