Here, the stretching ratio is one of the most important factors in the preparative process, and removing the CaCO 3 filler also affects the sheet properties. Their effects were studie

✦ Synopsis
Microporous polypropylene fibers were prepared by stretching polypropylene fibers containing CaC0, filler. The properties of the resultant fibers are controllable by adjusting the filler content and the stretching ratio. Also, it is elucidated that the fibers have a fine texture of polypropylene fibrils, in which the filler particles are dispersed. Furthermore, the CaCO, filler was removed by treating the fibers with an HC1-CH30H solution, and their properties were also investigated.

Microporous polypropylene sheets were prepared as follows. First, polypropylene pelletcontaining CaC03 filler was extruded to prepare base sheets, which were then biaxially stretched. The draft effect at the extrusion process was studied in relation to some properties of the resultant microporous po
Microporous sheets were prepared by biaxially stretching composite nonporous sheets composed of microspherical polymethylsilsesquioxane particles encased in polypropylene. The structural and physical property studies of the sheets obtained thereby show that the porosity, pore-size distribution, and
