β¦ Synopsis
Abstraet--Styrene-(methacrylic acid) random copolymers with various contents of methacrylic acid were studied by dynamic mechanical spectroscopy. From experimental data obtained under isothermal conditions, a physical model of dynamic mechanical behaviour near T s of such copolymers was established. Such a theoretical approach quantitatively points out changes in molecular motion of macromolecular chains brought about by methacrylic acid. From these results, it was concluded that hydrogen bondings between macromolecular segments, induced by the presence of methacrylic acid, could act as physical ties of the network.
