✦ Synopsis
lon-exchanger phase spectrophotometry with dibromo-o-nitroarsenazo has been developed for the determination of thorium. The linear range is (0-9 \mu \mathrm{g}) of thorium in (50 \mathrm{ml}) of solution by using (0.8 \mathrm{~g}) of resin with an apparent molar absorptivity of (7.19 \times 10^{5}). Uranium and rare earth elements in reasonable amounts do not interfere with the determination. The method has been applied successfully to determine thorium in waste water. 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
