โฆ Synopsis
The analysis of human movement offers important detailed information to researchers in medicine and sports science. The kinematic variables of most interest are the displacement, velocity and acceleration patterns of identified joints and limb segments. Movement patterns are captured on film or video tape and the location of selected anatomical landmarks are established using a sonic digitizer interfaced with a Commodore 4032 with output facilities to either a printer or digiplot. The user has the facility to identify the limb segment(s) and/or selected phases of the movement pattern and a low pass digital filter is employed to 'smooth' the digitized data. An 'over-plotting' function provides a useful aid in data interpretation.
