โœฆ Synopsis

Developmentally disabled students in a private non-profit school for exceptional children in Western New York State were selected for this study. This study sought to test the hypothesis that children with developmental disabilities could successfully interact with microcomputers and show interest in using them more extensively as a learning tool. This study suggests that there may be much unrealized potential in using microcomputers with developmentally delayed students. This group was quite proficient in interacting with a computer after a minimal amount of preliminary instruction. Their interest level and attention span were quite high and they revealed positive attitudes toward using the computer.
