✦ Synopsis

Prentice Hall, 1993. - 306 p.

This applications-oriented guide provides all the statistical tools needed to solve a range of real-world hydrologic-modelling problems. Offering sample computer programs, their output and interpretations, it covers commonly used methods, such as bivariate and multiple regression analysis, as well as more involved methods, such as numerical optimization and composite modelling.
Provides a statistical "toolbox" of computer programs that are necessary to solve a wide array of real-world hydrologic-modeling problems as used by civil and environmental engineers and geologists.
disjointed set of tests.
It is important to emphasize that Microcomputer Applications in Statistical
Hydrology is not a replacement for a statistical-methods text. While the text in-
cludes some of the important equations and underlying theory it does not provide
details. A statistical-methods book should be consulted for the details. Instead,
the goal in writing this book was to give computer programs that included all of
the important output and to provide examples that clearly illustrate the proper
interpretations of the output. This includes commonly used methods like multiple
regression analysis and some of the more involved methods, such as numerical
optimization and composite modeling, that have been made possible because of
Ihe computational power of the microcomputer.
