Intercad drafting package
A microcomputer-based drafting system, written in Pascal has taken four years to develop. The developer, Integrated Vision Systems Ltd, says that Intercad will run on a range of microcomputers including the Strike and Aurora as well as the IBM PC AT and its compatibles. IVSL also claims that it can support up to 16 CAD workstations when configured on a 32-bit supermicrocomputer.
A choice of graphics terminals and a choice of plotters ranging in size from A4 to A0 are available. The system uses a separate alphanumeric monitor for system prompts and commands, so as to leave the drafting terminal free for drawing.
Intercad is targetted at drawing offices in industry and in architectural practices. It has NC interfaces for direct communication with manufacturing processes. It automatically generates a parts list associated with the drawing. The user can define symbol and component libraries.
Drawings can be scaled, grouped, moved or copied. Dimensions can be calculated automatically by Intercad. Lines can be extended, joined or cropped and crosshatching can be carried out with control over the distance and angle between the lines.
