✦ Synopsis

From the determination of the Michaehs-Menten kinetic parameters (V, and Km) of renal tubular secretion of D-( -)p-n-propylmandelic acid (V) and D-( -)-p-isopropylmandelic acid (VI) in rats, it is shown that these compounds involve the same renal tubular carrier for their secretion but the affinity of V for the carrier is approximately twice that of VI. By considering these parameters as well as the structural variations of V and VI, to-
