✦ Synopsis
After a 2 0 MeV MGC-type cyclotron was put into operation two years ago in Oebrecen (Hungary), series of experiments have been carried out for introduction of new radiopharmaceuticals into the Hungarian medical practice.
A new method for 67Ga production was elaborated. The separation of 67Ga from the 67Zn matrix is carried out by ion-exchange i n Dowex-50 cation exchanger resin. The 67Ga chloride intermedier i s converted either to gallium citrate injection, which has been registrated a s a radiopharmacon in Hungary, o r to other complexes like lactate, EDTA, OTPA and transferrine for biological studies. These complexes were made by the Institute of Isotopes, Budapest and, based on animal experiments, different mechanisn was established for 67Ga uptakeof fastly and slowly growing Yoshida Sarcoma on rats.
