โฆ Synopsis
Methylcobslamin and methylcobalt derivatives of vitamin 31~ model compounds, in particuhu, the methylcobalt derivative of BFrsubstituted biiethylglyoximatocobalt complexes, react with a variety of strong nucleophiles in a manner typical of nucleophilic displacement reactions, i.e., according to thy equation: YH3 (Co) + Y-4 Y-CHs + (Car)-, where Y-denotes the attacking nucleophiIe and (Co) the parent cobalt chelate-Nucleophiles which react in this fashion include: RS, Cl-, Br-, I-, CN, Pbz-C,Hds PGHdr, Se-. Higher alkylcobalt derivatives also react with strong nucleophiles, but by way of olefin elimination rather than nucleophilic displacement.
